The ending of a production is never easy – especially the week after This week was spend recovering from directing the spring musical at workr, and let me tell you it was crazy. It’s normally crazy anyway with trying to wrap up loose ends – getting people paid, paying the last bills from the show, counting and depositing money, breaking down the set and storing it – add being a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend, our department’sTheatre Banquet and Mother’s Day into the mix and I was about done for. I hardly had time to breathe. I’m amazed I was actually able to pick up mother’s day gifts, wedding gifts, thank you gifts, and get everything done.
The beginning half was spend catching up on grading I couldn’t get to last week because of the play, and prepping for progress reports. I’m not kidding when I say I had absolutely ZERO social life at work because of it. No time to stop and chat with my co-workers, the kids, friends, my fiancé. It was so bad I had to actually cancel plans with some of my friends because I had so much work to do. Bummer. When not grading, I was making sure things were ready for our theatre banquet – certificates, awards, senior recognition, scrips, announcing next years season. So busy. Then it was wedding prep stuff for the wedding I was in on Saturday – final alterations for the dress, finding a card, packing, hair, make up – you all know how much of a commitment it is being a bridesmaid!! When we got there, we stayed in this incredible mansion on the reception property, so that was a pretty cool gem in my hectic life. It was a very busy week, but a really standout great week none the less…Thank you, Erin Condren for keeping me organized!
This week was a soft mint color in the ECLP Horizontal planner. I LOVE this color – it’s so beautiful. Retrospectively, I actually wish I had a little more time to buy some kits specifically with this mint color in mind – but oh well. I haven’t the time or the energy this month to do so. I just kind of tried to make it work with what I had and wound up with mint, pink and gray. I LOVED the way it turned out. I used a lot of inspiration from Simply Water Color Co, Birds Fly Studio and Elegant and Organized. It’s funny – I always feel like the more hectic the week, the more empty my planner looks? I don’t know if I’m lacking in time or energy on the truly crazy weeks, or what. I feel like on weeks that are more laid back, I’m usually sitting on the couch with my planner open, and then just am inclined to plan at a more leisurely pace. Maybe its just me.
Here’s to hoping things settle down a little this week.
How do you find the time to plan when things get busy??
